On an ordinary day, Mario receives a letter from Princess Peach containing a treasure map. Our hero embarks on a quest to find the lost princess and the treasure, initiating this adventure. As the title suggests, this version of Mario is entirely composed of paper, leading to different abilities and limitations than those typically encountered.

The thin, papery nature of Mario enables a much broader range of exploration, including slipping into cracks in walls and transforming into a paper airplane to navigate scenes. Mario can also curl up into a cone shape to roll through pipes and cling to beams.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is set to release exclusively on Nintendo Switch on May 23, 2024.
