With Cataclysm on the horizon, players of WoW Classic will soon regain access to the reforging feature, absent since the days of Warlords of Draenor. However, in The War Within, a clever workaround allows for reforging through enchts.
In WoW: The War Within, making adjustments to your classes will undergo significant changes. Alongside the reintroduction of weapon oils, intriguing enchants emerge. Notably, the cursed ring enchants offer a circuitous route to obtaining the reforging capability reminiscent of Cataclysm.

Within The War Within, the mechanics of ring enchants resemble those of reforging: one attribute decreases while another increases.
Cursed Ring Enchants in The War Within
In The War Within expansion of WoW, a new type of enchant has emerged for rings. One such enchant is the “Enchant Ring – Cursed Critical Strike.” When applied, it permanently alters a ring by draining 1,020 points of Haste while simultaneously providing a boost of 1,360 Critical Strike. However, it’s essential to note that this enchant can only be affixed to items of level 180 or higher.

- Enchant Ring – Glimmering Versatility
Should a player lack the specified attribute before applying a cursed ring enchant, it remains uncertain what repercussions may occur. For instance, if a player doesn’t possess 1,000 Versatility but the cursed ring enchant deducts 1,000 Versatility points, the outcome is currently unknown. It’s possible that in such scenarios, a negative value for Versatility could result.

The cursed ring enchants in The War Within offer a unique “kiss/curse” effect. This means that when you apply these enchants to your rings, you lose a significant portion of one attribute while gaining an even larger boost in another. For instance, with the “Enchant Ring – Cursed Critical Strike,” you sacrifice 1,020 points of Haste but receive a hefty increase of 1,360 Critical Strike. This results in approximately 300 extra points compared to what you lose.
This system allows for a substantial enhancement to your preferred attribute without the need for a direct 1:1 trade-off. Instead, you receive a net gain, making these enchants quite appealing. How do you feel about these new enchants introduced in The War Within?
