Introducing the New Leaders

Heading the charge as Executive Producer is Dan Hernberg, a stalwart figure whose previous roles at Blizzard on Diablo 3, Amazon Games on New World, and EA on Apex Legends have honed his expertise to a fine edge. Joining him is Ryan Barnard, assuming the mantle of Design Director, bringing with him a rich history from Massive Entertainment, Ubisoft, and IO Interactive, where his contributions to the iconic Hitman series left an indelible mark. Steering the technical helm of this new endeavor, Alan Villani, formerly involved in the Mortal Kombat series, takes up the mantle of Technical Director, harnessing the power of Unreal Engine 5 to forge the game’s digital landscape.

Cyberpunk 2: Crafting the Narrative

At the heart of every great cyberpunk saga lies a gripping narrative, and for Cyberpunk 2, that responsibility falls to Anna Megill, entrusted with the role of Lead Writer. With an impressive portfolio including Control at Remedy, Dishonored: Death of The Outsider at Arkane, and the upcoming Fable RPG at Microsoft, Megill brings a wealth of storytelling prowess to the table. Assisting her is Alexander Freed, a seasoned wordsmith whose past endeavors at Bioware, including Star Wars: The Old Republic, have earned him acclaim.

Despite these high-profile additions, many positions still remain vacant, leaving ample room for aspiring talents to leave their mark on this ambitious project.

The development of Cyberpunk 2 unfolds primarily in Boston, with support from teams in Vancouver and Warsaw, each contributing their unique expertise to bring this vision to life.

Expanding the Witcher Universe

Meanwhile, in Warsaw, CD Projekt Red is laying the groundwork for a new trilogy set in the beloved Witcher universe, also powered by Unreal Engine 5 and collectively known as Project Polaris. Alongside this ambitious venture, the studio is undertaking the monumental task of remaking the original Witcher game, slated for release following The Witcher 4. Internally dubbed Project Canis Majoris, this remake falls under the creative oversight of CD Projekt Red, with Polish studio Fool’s Theory handling production duties.
