Just a few days left until Google finally unveils its latest products on October 4th. After seeing the Google Pixel 8, Google Pixel 8 Pro, and the Google Pixel Watch 2 in numerous teaser videos, the launch event is happening next Wednesday. That’s when we’ll finally learn about the prices and availability. Now, a well-known tech leaker has chimed in, claiming to already know the exact prices and pre-order bonuses. If he’s correct, the Google Pixel 8 Pro is going to be quite pricey!

Is the Google Pixel 8 Pro going to be nearly as expensive as an Apple iPhone 15 Pro?

Roland Quandt has published a post on WinFuture that has left us astonished: Allegedly, the Google Pixel 8 Pro is going to cost a hefty $200 USD more than the Google Pixel 7 Pro did last year. The Pixel 7 Pro started at approximately $950 USD with 128 GB of internal storage. The Google Pixel 8 Pro, according to him, will cost $1160 USD – also with 128 GB. For comparison, the Apple iPhone 15 Pro is currently priced at $1,260 USD, just 100 dollars more.

To sweeten the deal for potential buyers, pre-orders for the premium Pixel phone will reportedly come with a free Google Pixel Watch 2 worth $420 USD (LTE version: $475 USD). For those who don’t mind paying a bit more, the Pixel 8 Pro, available in Obsidian, Porcelain, and Sky Blue, can also be pre-ordered with 256 GB ($1,225 USD) or 512 GB ($1,375 USD) starting from October 4th. According to the source, deliveries will begin on October 12th, just under a week later.

Interestingly, it seems that Google hasn’t raised the price quite as drastically for the Google Pixel 8. Although the Google Pixel 8 in Peony Rose, Gray, and Obsidian colours will still cost $160 USD more. So, instead of the $680 USD for the Google Pixel 7 with 128 GB of storage, the Google Pixel 8 is expected to cost $845 USD. Unfortunately, there don’t appear to be any Pixel Watch 2 or the first Google Pixel Watch bonuses for pre-ordering.

Both Pixel phones are rumoured to come with the Google Tensor G3 and start with 128 GB of internal storage. While the Pro version features a 6.7-inch OLED display (3,120 x 1,440 pixels), 120 Hz, 12 GB of RAM, a 5,100 mAh battery, and a 64, 50, and 48 MP triple-camera setup, the base model trims things down a bit. It’s said to have a 6.17-inch OLED panel (2,400 x 1,080 pixels) also with 120 Hz, along with 8 GB of RAM, a 4,600 mAh battery, and a 50 and 12 MP dual-camera.”
