Season Two Content

Season Two opens with a new map called Contaminated. This map focuses on close combat and multiple flanking routes. The first update also includes a Limited Time Mode that expands the story and adds tactical options against Pax Armata. Later in the season, players will get a high-intensity map and a mode set in a dark underground base. Those modes aim to add variety and new play rhythms.

The update also previews a reworked version of a classic map titled Golmud Railway. That remake adapts the original layout to the modern systems of the game. Early lab sessions show the map plays well and that players like the adjusted flow and town areas. The team will keep testing the map and will return later with more updates.

Progression and Balance

Progression has several large changes. Challenges now use broader criteria. The team removed overly narrow daily challenges and allowed assists to count in more objectives. The Battle Pass now moves faster. The system recalculates how tokens are earned from Career XP, so normal play and weekly tasks reward progress more quickly.

Career XP and Weapon XP earn rates in REDSEC modes now match other game modes more closely. The studio added Career and Battle Pass Boosters to some earlier ranks, so REDSEC-focused players see meaningful gains. The changes aim to reduce grind and to make progression feel fair across play styles.

Weapon tuning and recoil have been revised. Recoil compensation now behaves consistently. Automatic weapons received tuning that clarifies each role and range. The studio wants guns to feel distinct and reliable. Movement has received attention, too. Acceleration curves are updated, and vaults and ladder transitions are smoother. These steps should make combat more predictable in tight fights.

Audio work is also part of the update. The team improved clarity for movement cues and for overlapping sounds. The patch aims to make footsteps and other positional audio easier to read. The development team noted that more audio changes are planned for later in the season.

Labs and Testing

Battlefield Labs will remain central to the season’s work. Labs serve as a public playtest area where the studio tries combat changes and new features with players. The team used Labs to preview Contaminated and to fine-tune the new gameplay feature it tested there. Those sessions helped the studio adjust flow and comfort for the wider player base.

The studio will test Time to Kill tuning in the labs. The goal is better readability and consistent combat. The team will examine limb multipliers, headshot damage, and ammo effects that help skilled aim to matter more. This work may raise the skill ceiling while keeping matches fair for a wide audience.

REDSEC updates were also addressed. The team added a minimum armor drop on death and plans to raise armor availability through Class Crates. The studio also changed Vehicle Keycard rewards to add a cooldown after a successful tank claim. That cooldown will make tank chains rare and make getting a vehicle feel earned.

Battle Pass Progress and Labs

Practice on the new lines and angles by playing the new maps and modes. Attend to weekly challenges to accelerate progress with Battle Pass. Try Labs in cases where new tests are introduced and provide feedback. Control the fire and aiming discipline with the updated movement and recoil tuning. Play REDSEC engages in learning the new armor drops and the reformed tank rules.

The complete update notes and the entire roadmap of the complete season will be released by the studio later in the week. The roadmap will provide the release dates and patch notes. Hands-on impressions will be published by reviewers and content creators who explain the feeling of changes in real matches
