The return restores a key feature that allows users to sync their purchased movie libraries across platforms. Movies Anywhere is owned by Disney and works as a digital bridge between major movie retailers. When it works as intended, a film purchased on one service becomes available on all linked platforms. During the recent disagreement between Google and Disney, that bridge temporarily broke for Google users. The issue began when a broader content deal between Disney and YouTube TV expired, which led to Google being quietly removed as a Movies Anywhere partner.
Although the television channel dispute was resolved within weeks, the Movies Anywhere disconnection lasted much longer. Users who relied on Google Play or YouTube to watch Disney and other studio films were left waiting. That wait has now ended.
What Happened Before

How to Re-link Account

Users who do not receive an email can still restore access directly through the Movies Anywhere website. After signing in, account settings allow users to manage retailer connections. Selecting Google and approving access will restore syncing.
