What Caused the Step Counting Mess?
In March, Google tried to make the step counter better for people pushing strollers or using wheelchairs. But the change made the watch count steps wrong. After many complaints, Google decided to switch back to the old step-counting system. They might try to fix the new system later, but for now, they want users to trust their step numbers again.

No Gemini AI Yet
Many hoped this update would add Gemini, Google’s new AI assistant. But Google is saving that for the Pixel Watch 4, which might come out later this year. Gemini will take the place of Google Assistant and do smarter stuff, such as responding more quickly to questions.
Bad News for Fitbit Users
If you own a Fitbit, you will be losing Google Assistant shortly. Google is not substituting it with Gemini, so your Fitbit won’t speak with you anymore. This transformation has already begun, upsetting some Fitbit enthusiasts.
