Google Assistant introduced a revolutionary phone voice command interface during its 2016 launch. The Gemini product seeks to outperform its predecessor. Users will get notifications to switch from Assistant to Gemini, although this transition will proceed step by step. Combining Android version 9 or an older version with 2GB or less RAM will allow Google Assistant to function on fewer powerful devices.
The evolution of Gemini started from its first launch in February 2024. The initial Gemini update suffered from key limitations like watching alarms or sending messages. Google acknowledges these issues and prioritizes daily usability improvements before retiring Assistant.
