There are still several months until Google unveils its mid-range device for 2025, but leaks have started to reveal details about the Pixel 9a. If everything goes as planned, this device will be launched between March and April of next year. While that date may seem far off, it comes with several key features, an attractive price, and a significant improvement that Google has developed for the smaller sibling of the Pixel 9.

Android Headlines reports that the Google Pixel 9a will be priced the same as the Pixel 8a, at $449 for the 128 GB storage version.
This is good news that wasn’t entirely expected, especially since Google recently raised the prices for the Pixel 9, 9 Pro, and 9 Pro XL. Given this trend, many thought the Pixel 9a would also see a price increase. However, it seems that the price will remain stable at $449 or €549.
The Pixel 9a is also expected to come with a surprise regarding its battery.
The leak not only reveals the price of the Pixel 9a but also highlights many of its features. According to the source, this mid-range Google phone will come with a 48 MP main camera and a 13 MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The front camera will be the same 13 MP sensor that was used in the Pixel 8a.
The biggest surprise is related to its weight and battery. The Pixel 9a is expected to weigh 186 grams, which is two grams less than the current model, and it will include a 5,000 mAh battery. This means Google will add an extra 500 mAh without increasing the weight of the device. Fast charging will remain at 18 W via cable and 7.5 W wirelessly.
The front of the device is also expected to see significant changes, as the leaked screen indicates a diagonal of 6.3 inches, compared to the 6.1 inches of the Pixel 8a. Like the current model, it will maintain the 120 Hz refresh rate.
Finally, it is mentioned that the Tensor G4 will power the Pixel 9a, which means its performance would match that of current high-end models. The device will have both 128 GB and 256 GB storage options, along with 8 GB of RAM.
Based on all the leaks, Google aims to launch an appealing update to its mid-range lineup. This will include a larger screen, a new main camera, and a larger battery. According to the leaks, all of this will come while maintaining the price and slightly reducing the device’s weight.
