According to the XiaomiTime portal, the Xiaomi 15 will come with a significant change in its battery, addressing one of the biggest drawbacks of Xiaomi phones. Previously, the brand’s flagship smartphones struggled with battery life, as they used batteries with lower capacity compared to their competitors and even other models from Xiaomi’s own brands, Redmi and Poco.
Xiaomi, on the other hand, has chosen a more refined and slimmer design for the Xiaomi 15, while also including support for fast charging to quickly replenish the battery. However, nothing beats having a larger battery. This is what the company aims to achieve with the Xiaomi 15. Specifically, the smartphone is expected to feature a 5,400 mAh battery, compared to the 4,610 mAh battery in its predecessor, the Xiaomi 14. This should lead to a significant increase in battery life, especially since the new processor will be more efficient.
Additionally, Xiaomi will not compromise on charging speed. The Xiaomi 15 is expected to support wireless charging at up to 50 W and fast wired charging at 90 W.
Xiaomi 15, possible features
As for the other specifications, the Xiaomi 15 is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which is Qualcomm’s latest high-end chip. It will also include a 6.3-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.
Xiaomi is likely to make significant upgrades to the camera system as well. The Xiaomi 15 could come with a new 50-megapixel primary sensor, along with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. Additionally, the company may introduce a 50-megapixel telephoto lens, allowing for photos with 3x optical zoom.
The Xiaomi 15 is expected to debut on October 23 in China, but it may not reach the global market until late 2024 or early 2025. According to previous leaks, its price could be around 4,599 yuan, which translates to approximately 585 euros at the current exchange rate.
