Google Photos has added a new AI feature called Me Meme that helps users place their face into classic meme templates. The tool is rolling out first to users in the United States and is described as experimental by Google.
Me Meme uses Google’s Gemini image model family. The company recommends using a clear, front-facing, well-lit photo for best results. The feature appears under the Create tab in the Photos app once it arrives on a device.

How Me Meme Works
You pick a template or upload your own template. Then you add a photo of yourself from your Google Photos library. The tool uses generative AI to blend your photo into the meme layout and to match style and pose. You can save the result or regenerate a different version.
Google notes that generated images may not perfectly match the original. That is why the company labels Me Meme as experimental. The team says more templates will be added over time. Tech writers who saw early code said the feature was in development months ago.
Some users will see the new control appear slowly. Google announced that the U.S. rollout of Android and iOS users will be done in a series of weeks. The firm wrote at Google Photos community forum and official help pages.
