Battlefield 6 will receive the California Resistance update on November 18. The patch brings a new map called Eastwood, new weapons including the DB12 shotgun, Battle Pickups such as the Rorsch railgun and the MP RMG minigun, and a limited time 8v8 Sabotage mode. DICE also plans broad gunplay tuning plus visibility and aim assist fixes now and more changes in the Winter Offensive update on December 9.
New Map Eastwood
Eastwood sets fights in a Los Angeles style suburb with streets houses pools and an open golf course area. The map is designed for all out warfare with vehicle lanes and tight building fights. A new small transport vehicle called Turfpro PVT Royale will appear as a fast four-person option for quick moves across the map. Eastwood aims to give players close quarter fights and clear lines for vehicle play.
The update also adds Sabotage a short and fast 8 versus 8 modes. In this mode teams attack or defend cargo like explosives. It is intended to be action packed and to give players constant combat with limited downtime. DICE calls it a more casual friendly way to jump into fights.

Weapons and Tuning
The DB12 is a dual tube pump shotgun that fires each barrel separately and reloads them with a single pump action. The M357 Trait revolver joins the sidearm choices and a new Slim Handstop underbarrel grip appears for handling variety. Two powerful Battle Pickups will spawn in small caches across maps. The Rorsch Mk 2 is a chargeable railgun built to damage soldiers vehicles and structures. The MP RMG is a heavy minigun that can swing rounds into a fight when used at the right moment.
DICE will also tune recoil dispersion and sustained fire so weapons feel more stable at range. The studio will update aim assist settings to mirror the open beta feel and reset some aim assist sliders so players can test the new values before they change personal settings. Lighting and visibility changes will reduce harsh transitions when players move between inside and outside spaces so enemies are easier to spot. These fixes arrive with California Resistance while further balance work continues into the Winter Offensive update.
What players see in practice may evolve after the patch. DICE said it will monitor feedback and telemetry and refine these changes. Players who prefer controller play should test aim assist after the update before making big adjustments.
