YouTube TV is getting a fresh look this summer to make it easier for viewers to find shows and use new features. The update will improve how you move around the app, watch videos, and talk to creators. While YouTube has not shared pictures of the new design yet, it might look similar to apps like Netflix, with big buttons and easy menus.

This update comes as YouTube celebrates 20 years online. The platform has grown a lot since 2005, with over 20 trillion videos uploaded and 20 million new videos added every day.

What’s New in the YouTube TV Redesign

Simpler Menus and Better Quality

The main goal is to make the app less confusing. You will find it easier to jump between shows, adjust video quality, and read comments. Subscribing to channels or checking details about them will also be faster.

Custom Multiview for Non-Sports Fans

Multiview, a feature that lets you watch up to four streams at once, is expanding. Until now, it mostly worked for sports like football or basketball. Starting soon, you can pick any four non-sports channels to watch together, like news, cooking shows, or kids’ content. More channels will join this list over time.

How Multiview Works Now

Before this update, YouTube TV chose which four screens to show you. Now, you get to pick your own combination. For example, you could watch a cooking tutorial, a news channel, a cartoon, and a travel vlog all at the same time.

AI Music Tool and Faster Playback

YouTube is testing a feature called Ask Music for Premium and Music Subscribers. Type a phrase like “happy 90s songs” or “calm piano music,” and the AI will create a radio station just for you. It is only available in some countries right now, but could spread wider later.

For people who like to watch videos quickly, YouTube Premium now lets you speed up videos to 4x the normal speed. This is helpful for skimming long tutorials or podcasts.

New Tools for Creators

The system offers enhancements to video creators on YouTube. More content creators will soon have the ability to hear videos rather than using keyboard commands for replies. The new feature enables creators to maintain a more personal connection with their audience through spoken replies.

Why These Updates Matter

The YouTube TV application has evolved into a consolidated streaming solution. Users may no longer need to move between platforms, including Netflix and Disney, because of the new design update. The company provides streaming service support for other platforms, which allows users to access all their preferred shows in a single application. The online video platform YouTube has gained the position of the third most viewed streaming service in the United States, while surpassing Disney and Netflix in specific categories. The modifications will let YouTube expand its user base even further.

How to Try the New Features

The YouTube TV redesign will start rolling out this summer. To use custom multiview, look for updates in the next few weeks. The AI music tool and 4x speed are already available for some users. Voice replies for creators will expand later this year.

With these updates, YouTube TV aims to keep viewers and creators happy as it enters its third decade online. Whether you love sports, binge-watch shows, or create content, there is something new to explore.
