It seems that Xiaomi couldn’t wait any longer. With just a few days left until its October 29 event, the company has decided today is the perfect time to reveal all the details about the design of the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro. This isn’t just a small preview; the brand has uploaded a series of high-resolution images showing every detail of its new phones.

Both models target the high-end market, and while not all their details are known yet, we already know they will feature a camera made by Leica and the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. Today, we can also add information about their aesthetics.

Like Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25, the Xiaomi 15 models are not expected to represent a radical change from the current Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro. However, the company has revealed certain details that showcase a much more refined and sophisticated design.

This is the new Xiaomi 15.

Let’s start with the Xiaomi 15. This year, the company has designed the back to be very similar to the previous generation, featuring a square camera module and a matte-effect glass rear panel. At first glance, there aren’t many differences, but a closer look reveals some changes.

In the Xiaomi 15, the frames have a new texture; they are now matte and have more rounded edges. Additionally, the metal is better integrated into the back, giving it a more polished look that aligns with its high-end range.

In fact, this seamless integration is also seen in the camera module, which no longer has sharp edges. Instead, it features a smooth and rounded blend with the rear glass and the final finishes.

Finally, it’s worth highlighting one of the most interesting details: the Xiaomi 15 features excellent bezel optimization. The bezels are much thinner than before, completely symmetrical, and create a truly attractive front design.

And here’s the Pro version.

The Xiaomi 15 Pro also features a design that appears identical from a distance, but reveals subtle and appealing changes upon closer inspection. For example, the front glass has a unique curvature; while it doesn’t have curved edges like some models, it integrates differently than the base model. The company has used a technique called 2.5D glass, which enhances ergonomics and gives the device a very premium appearance.

Similarly to the Xiaomi 15, the frames on the Xiaomi 15 Pro now feature a matte texture and are seamlessly integrated with the rear glass. The camera module also has curves that differ significantly from the flat, straight edges of the previous generation.

In fact, all these changes might go unnoticed by most users, but they won’t be missed by those who currently own or have tried the Xiaomi 14 or 14 Pro. The company aimed to maintain a similar aesthetic without making drastic changes, while refining the details that encourage an upgrade.

Now that you know the design of the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro, all that’s left is to wait until October 29 to learn about their features and new AI functions. However, the announcement in the West will likely have to wait until early 2025.
