Oddly enough, Xiaomi has managed to roll out Android 15 before Google itself. While Google takes its time, different manufacturers in the ecosystem have had the source code of the operating system for weeks. This allows them to start releasing their versions whenever they want. vivo was the first to do this, starting last week, and now Xiaomi is following suit.

That’s right, Xiaomi has already deployed a version of Android 15 that some users can try out. This version is not just for China or something very rare; the build released is for the global ROM and is meant for Xiaomi 14s sold outside of Asia.
But be careful: this version is not just a beta under the HyperOS Enhanced Edition program. It is also an Android 15 that uses HyperOS as a customization layer. This is not HyperOS 2.0, but the version that most Xiaomi phones currently have installed.
In other words, Xiaomi has just launched the first version of HyperOS based on Android 15. While it is in beta, it is expected that it won’t stay in that phase for long and will reach the global market soon. As mentioned, the Xiaomi 14 will be the first to enjoy it, followed by several other phones from the company that have confirmed Android 15.

These 22 devices should benefit from the same update that is already available—remember, it’s in beta—for the Xiaomi 14. This means that, in all likelihood, they will update to Android 15 and continue using HyperOS until HyperOS 2.0 arrives in Europe in early 2025.
In short, Xiaomi wants to include the new features of Android 15 in its devices as quickly as possible, and then do the same with the new features of HyperOS 2.0. The most interesting part is that if it moves fast enough, Xiaomi could release a stable version before the Google Pixel itself does.
