Samsung is set to rev up its premium camera game in its next Galaxy S25 Ultra and this time, the South Korean giant is honing in on an area most phones neglect—the ultrawide lens. This camera is said to receive a big improvement from the tech giant with an improved photography experience being in the offing.
The leak from Ice Universe also has it that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is to feature a 50 MP ultrawide camera with a 1/2.52” large sensor and f/1.9 wide aperture and 0.7µm pixels which is a complete jump up from the ultra-wide camera on the S24 that boasts of 12MP ultra-wide lenses with 1/2.55” sensor size with 1.4µm pixels. The next upgrade should contribute to the fact that the ultra-wide lens will be able to record brighter and more detailed images, including when shooting at night with the help of pixel-binning technology and a larger aperture.

A Needed Camera Overhaul
Samsung’s ultrawide cameras have not received a hardware update in a year since the Galaxy S21 Ultra was introduced with its 12MP f/2.2 ultrawide sensor. Technological advancement or processing and image has shown competitors such as Apple and Google surpass Samsung with bigger, sharper sensors. However, with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Samsung appears to be prepared to match the competitors’ strategies.
The new 50MP ultrawide camera sensor might also support macro autofocus like most flagship phones now. Even more impressive is the fact that Samsung asks to put this large sensor into a thinner body this is, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is said to be Samsung’s thinnest flagship in years.
Telephoto Camera Upgraded Too
Along with the ultrawide adjustment, there are rumors indicating that Samsung will enhance the 3x telephoto photographic device on the Galaxy S25 Ultimate from 12MP to 50MP. This is also a segment that has not been refreshed since the S21 Ultra Where the 10MP telephoto camera has been left wanting, particularly in terms of detail and noise in low light, at 3x zoom. The jump to 50MP should give a good enough increase in resolution and detail over the P20 Pro even in low light.
With these improvements, all of the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s rear cameras will come with a 50MP or higher resolution While the main camera will be kept at 200MP for the ultimate performance. The new upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is rumored to be a camera-sonic powerhouse as they incorporate high res sensors all around along with state-of-the-art features.
