Since the Launch of the Pre-Patch of WoW: The War Within, Realm Boundaries No Longer an Obstacle for Your Guild
The pre-patch of WoW: The War Within could almost be described as the “I Do Everything Across the Board” update. Alongside the War Pack, which was added to live realms with the patch (albeit experiencing some operational hiccups), the update introduces additional features for cross-realm play. Guild characters are no longer confined to a single realm.

Now, you can finally unite friends from other realm or gather your characters from different realms into a single guild. This marks the elimination of one of the last remaining barriers between realms. You’ll notice characters from all realms displayed together on your character selection screen. It sounds perfect, doesn’t it?
There’s Still a Small Catch
However, this feature isn’t without its minor issues and isn’t yet flawless. Given the current update’s complexities and ongoing adjustments, encountering some problems is hardly unexpected. Thankfully, these issues are relatively minor and have minimal impact at present—though we hope they’ll be resolved by the official release.
Regrettably, developers have temporarily disabled certain aspects of cross-realm guild functionality, including the guild bank. While the guild bank remains operational, it isn’t accessible across realms; it’s tied to the guild’s original realm.
- Guilds can now invite characters from different realms. Cross-realm guild bank functionality will be available in the upcoming update (11.0.2).
Patch 11.0.2 is slated for release prior to the official launch, ensuring smooth operation upon The War Within’s debut—assuming no further complications arise, though we’re cautious in this regard.
