Currently, it seems like the pre-patch for WoW: The War Within is competing for the title of “worst patch ever.”
The pre-patch for WoW: The War Within is gradually becoming a nightmare for both players and developers. After the developers admitted that the “wrong” talent trees were intentional and that the Warband Bank, a feature of the Warband, still isn’t working, more features now need to be turned off.

This time, however, part of the cross-realm functionality is affected, which actually isn’t related to the patch itself. This feature has been active for a long time and, despite a few minor issues at the start, worked perfectly. But now, parts of it have had to be turned off again. For how long? Nobody knows at the moment.
Cross-Realm Feature in WoW Partially Turned Off
The cross-realm feature itself still works for the most part. You can continue to play with players from other servers. However, you can no longer trade with them. Cross-realm trading has been deactivated by the developers and now shows an error message if you try to use it.
“We’ve identified an issue with cross-realm trading that requires us to temporarily disable the function. We’re working on a fix, and until that work is complete, cross-realm trading will fail when attempted. We’ll let you know as soon as we have resolved the issue. Thank you!”
However, the developers are already working on a hotfix to address the problem. Given the numerous other errors and bugs in the pre-patch, cross-realm trading is unlikely to be a top priority at the moment.
Patch 11.0, the pre-patch for WoW: The War Within, is making a strong bid for the title of the worst patch of all time. It’s hard to recall any other patch with so many errors and issues. Or have we become a bit nostalgic and simply forgotten other “problem patches”?
