The man was arrested by police and arraigned in court in Morristown. He has since been released “on his own recognizance.”

The website DroneDJ, which also reported on the incident, highlighted the different regulations for flying drones over private property in the US. However, under US federal law, it is illegal “to shoot down a drone, even if it is unauthorized.”

In Germany, the police are using special devices to defend against drones during the European Football Championship.
