In Pokémon Go, Sustainability Week will take place in April 2024, during which you can embark on adventures with your buddy Pokémon. This event aims to raise awareness about the environment. You’ll have the opportunity to hatch event Pokémon and receive encounters as rewards through special field research. We have compiled all the information for you.
Attention, trainers! The sweeper is about to drive through here! In Pokémon Go, Sustainability Week will take place from Monday, April 22, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. to Friday, April 26, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. (local time).

Sustainability Week is a relatively small event. Special spawns in the wild are not active because, from time to time, you should divert your attention from the screen and become aware of your surroundings. Even though April’s weather can be quite erratic, at least it’s becoming sunnier and more colorful outside. Below, you’ll discover what the event has in store for you and how you can make the most of it.
Event Bonuses
- Your buddy Pokémon will bring you souvenirs and gifts more frequently.
- Your buddy Pokémon will remain on the map with you for a longer duration if you feed them berries and pups.
- With your buddy Pokémon, you only need to travel half the distance to earn hearts.
2 Kilometer Eggs
Special Pokémon hatch from 2 km eggs. These Pokémon have a higher chance of obtaining a Shiny specimen compared to wild Pokémon or Pokémon from Field Research rewards.
The following Pokémon hatch from 2 km eggs:
- Wadribie (+), Rotomurf (+) and Unratütox (+)
- Camouflage Pignon (+) and Bithora (+)
If you’re out hatching eggs anyway, remember to feed your buddy Pokémon! Thanks to the event bonus, you only have to walk half the distance to earn hearts. If you’re up for it, you can take another route and not only accomplish multiple tasks with one action, but several!

Spotlight Hour with Unratütox
During Sustainability Week, a spotlight hour featuring Unratütox will occur on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (local time). If you’re in need of stardust, don’t miss this spotlight hour! While the active bonus doubles the amount of experience, Unratütox rewards you with plenty of stardust!
Tip: Activate a Star Piece during Spotlight Hour to earn even more Stardust.
Field Research
During Sustainability Week, special Field Research tasks are available when you spin PokéStop photo discs! You can encounter the following Pokémon as rewards:
- Wadribie (+), Rotomurf (+) and Unratütox (+)
- Bithora (+)
With a bit of luck, you might even encounter the following Pokémon:
- Camouflage Pignon (+)
Collector Challenge
You can improve your top collector medal through special tasks! There are great rewards for completing the challenges!
Collector Challenge: Rotomurf
- Catch a Rotomurf
- Evolve a Rotomurf to Stalobor
For completing the Collector Challenge: Rotomurf you will receive 10,000 experience points and 5,000 stardusts.
Collector Challenge: Unratütox
- Catch a Rubbish Tox
- Develop a waste ox to Deponitox
For completing the Collector Challenge: Unratütox you will receive 10,000 experience points and 5,000 stardusts.

During the event you can take part in PokéStop showcases. Receive special rewards for participating and who knows, maybe you’ll even win the race and come in 1st place!
Pokémon Go: April 2024
April is almost over, but not over yet! On April 28, 2024 you can take part in the Pii hatching day and with a bit of luck you might even hatch a shiny Pii! On April 30th there will be a spotlight hour with Piepi, where you will receive double the amount of catch candies. From April 25th you can fight Mega Stollos in Mega Raids.
