What do the hardcore role-playing game Elden Ring and the cozy farming simulation Stardew Valley have in common? Not much, except they are currently at the top of the list of the most played games on the Steam Deck.

Elden Ring holds the first place, likely due to the recent release of its expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree (not listed separately). Stardew Valley, which was released in 2016, is in second place.
The other spots on the list are just as varied. In third place is the trading card game Balatro, followed by Baldur’s Gate 3, and an HD version of Kingdom Hearts.
Even though the games in the top 10 are very different, it’s easy to see why they are so popular. Elden Ring is widely played, especially because of the Erdtree expansion.
The Steam Deck is perfect for trying out new tactics in the Shadow Realm or studying a boss’s behavior. Meanwhile, Stardew Valley and Balatro are great for playing alongside watching TV or winding down before bed.

GTA 5 Runs with Minor Restrictions
So far, Valve has only published a monthly overview of the most popular games on the Steam Deck. The new list, however, is updated daily and also shows discounts.
You can also see which popular games have been verified for the Steam Deck. In the current top 10, all but GTA 5 are verified. The classic from Rockstar Games still runs, but there are minor issues with the launcher and setting up the desired resolution.
