World of Warcraft Soars to New Heights with Worldwide Dragonriding, Follower Dungeons, and More

Embarking on the 2024 journey, World of Warcraft (WoW) has kicked off its roadmap with the much-anticipated Renewal Seeds update (10.2.5), now live on European servers. While not a colossal patch, its contents surpass the usual generosity expected from Blizzard Entertainment’s seasoned MMO.

Dragonflight Expansion Unleashes Global Dragonriding

A standout feature of the Dragonflight expansion is Dragonriding, forever altering the use of mounts in World of Warcraft. Initially restricted to the Dragon Isles, its resounding success among players compelled Blizzard to extend its reach. The latest update now grants Dragonriding across all continents where flight is permitted in the old world. Dracthyrs receive the passive ability, Enhanced Ascension, equivalent to the Dragonrider’s skill.

Revolutionizing Dungeon Gameplay with NPC Followers

Another game-changing addition is dungeons with NPC followers. Players between levels 60 and 70 can now delve into Dragonflight dungeons solo or with friends. Despite the group’s size, players can queue up in the finder and select their role (healer, DPS, or tank). Followers then assume the remaining roles, forming a complete group. The aim is to help players grasp the mechanics, with followers mirroring reality to the point where an AI-controlled hunter might initiate combat before the tank.

Explore New Realms with Bel’ameth in Renewal Seeds

For those seeking uncharted territories, Renewal Seeds introduces Bel’ameth, a new settlement of Night Elves nestled in the Dragon Isles, adjacent to the Plains of Ohn’ahra. Beyond exploration, the patch includes the Azeroth Archive, offering activities to unravel character stories and historical narratives, earning cosmetic rewards such as battle pets, mounts, and a transmogrification set. To embark on this adventure, head to the Roasted Ram Inn and accept the quest “To the Archive!”

A Campaign of Redemption and Class Tweaks

The update unfolds a campaign where players aid King Cringris and the Gilneans in reclaiming lost territory. Initiate this new saga by conversing with Genn Cringris in Stormwind or Calia Menethil in the Argent Forest. As with any noteworthy update, Renewal Seeds brings forth class changes and quality-of-life improvements across different facets of the game.
