The developers of World of Warcraft, Blizzard, have unveiled several user interface changes for the upcoming expansion, The War Within. These changes include an updated quest log and new Arachnophobia options.

If you ask WoW fans which add-ons are their absolute must-haves, interface adjustments are almost always in the top ten. Although Blizzard has made some user interface adjustments over the years, many players still feel it isn’t ideal.
Now, the WoW team has announced more changes for the upcoming expansion, The War Within. These updates should be another step in the right direction for the community.
New Map Legend and Quest Log Adjustments Improve the Overview
You can find detailed information about the planned adjustments in an official blog post. These updates include a new map legend, quest log and spellbook updates, and the new Arachnophobia mode:
Map Legend
New symbols are categorized into quests, time-limited activities, activities, and movement, marking interesting points on the map.
Quest Log
There is a new checkbox for trackable quests. Additionally, a tooltip provides more information about the quest type (repeatable, campaign quest, etc.).

Spellbook
Specializations, talents, and the spellbook now appear in a single window for better overview. The spellbook includes a search function and can be minimized. You can also hide passive skills in the spellbook.
Crafting Materials
The tooltip for crafting materials will now include information about which expansion the resource comes from.
Arachnophobia Mode
This new mode replaces spiders with alternative creatures wherever possible. When activated via the Accessibility menu, NPCs and bosses in the open world, dungeons, raids, as well as battle pets, hunter pets, and mounts will be replaced. Some exceptions are listed on the Blizzard support website.
