Zenless Zone Zero
Following the successes of Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, MiHoYo’s third major game, Zenless Zone Zero, part of the HoYoverse, is set to launch. This free-to-play title will be available on July 4th for PC, PS5, iOS, and Android, immersing players in a post-apocalyptic urban fantasy world where they assume the role of a proxy. These proxies aid others in exploring alternate dimensions known as “Hollow.”
Gameplay unfolds as an action role-playing experience, allowing players to engage in battles with up to three different characters per mission. The combat system emphasizes action and intricate combos, often occurring in compact, arena-like settings. Throughout the game, players gather diverse resources, uncover various items, and delve into multiple storylines.
Zenless Zone Zero follows the HoYoverse tradition with its gacha system, where acquiring new characters involves opening loot boxes. The rarity of characters correlates with their probability of appearing, ensuring a dynamic and challenging progression system.
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, dubbed as a Soulslite, is slated for release on July 18, 2024, across PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Developed by the team behind Ashen, this game introduces a new take on the challenging Soulslike genre.
So, what exactly defines a Soulslite? Flintlock incorporates familiar elements from FromSoftware’s games: dynamic strategic battles, a sprawling and immersive game world, and a mechanic where you lose influence upon death. However, it also offers customizable difficulty settings. Players preferring a less arduous experience can opt for an “easy” mode focused on story progression.
In Flintlock, players assume the role of Nor Vanek, an elite member of the coalition army in a fantastical realm. Accompanied by Enki, a helpful fox-like companion, Nor embarks on a quest for vengeance against the gods. These omnipotent beings threaten humanity with annihilation, setting the stage for a gripping narrative and intense gameplay.
