When you start a new season in Diablo 4, it takes quite a few hours to level up your character to level 100. Many players consider reaching level 100 as the beginning of the endgame. Before reaching this milestone, it’s important to level up your glyphs to at least level 15. However, this task requires a lot of time and feels more like a mandatory chore than a fun part of the season.
In Season 4, these two time-consuming tasks—leveling up characters and glyphs—will be faster. As you progress to higher world levels, you’ll earn more experience points compared to previous seasons. Additionally, glyphs will level up 25% faster in Season 4, also known as “Fresh Loot”.
Here’s the breakdown of how fast you level up in Season 4 of Diablo 4:
- Experience points (XP) remain unchanged in World Level 1.
- In World Tier 2, XP has been boosted from 20% to 50%.
- In World Tier 3, XP has increased from 100% to 150%.
- In World Tier 4, XP has risen from 200% to 250%.

If you begin directly in World Level 2, you’ll receive 50% more experience points in Diablo 4 Season 4 (compared to the previous 20%). This means more players will start at a higher difficulty level.
Before, even skilled players avoided the higher difficulty level because the small XP bonus wasn’t worth the extra time it took to defeat monsters.
Now, with a 25% XP boost for glyphs, you don’t have to explore as many nightmare dungeons in the endgame. This means you can jump right into new endgame content like The Pit. Similar to Diablo 3’s Greater Rifts, this new dungeon offers valuable resources necessary for crafting in Season 4.
Alongside the introduction of new endgame content, itemization and crafting have undergone significant revisions for Season 4. For instance, tempering allows you to add new affixes to your items, and the blacksmith can now upgrade items up to 12 times. However, to access these features, you’ll need resources from The Pit. Are you planning to try out Season 4?
