You might wonder, why specifically on Wednesday? Well, the love-hate Pokémon Cupid is traditionally released into the world of Pokémon Go on Valentine’s Day. The different times are intended to give you the chance to encounter the Pokémon at various times.
At an earlier point in time, Regidrago and Regieleki appeared for the first time in top raids and were later moved to regular Tier-5 raids. If you miss Cupid or don’t have the chance to raid the Pokémon on February 14, 2024, Cupid will surely appear again.
Shiny Cupid?
No! At the time of the top raids in February 2024, you cannot encounter a shiny Cupid.
Top Raid – Victory Bonus
If you defeat Cupid in battle, you will receive a special bonus that you have previously only known from Tier-4 raids on Community Days. For 30 minutes after the battle, various Flying and Fairy-type Pokémon will appear within the vicinity of the arena. You can encounter the following Pokémon:
- Cleffa (+), Jigglypuff (+), Snubbull (+), and Swablu (+)
- Shelmet (+), Emolga, Noibat (+), Doduo (+), Spritzee (+), and Stufful (+)
(+) With a bit of luck, you may encounter these Pokémon in shiny variants.

Top Raids? What’s that?
Some may wonder what on earth a top raid is. Top raids are tough raids for which you should prepare well and team up with a group of trainers. A top raid egg takes 24 hours to hatch! This allows you to see in advance when and where a top raid will take place.
For those who remember the EX raids, it might start to dawn on them. For an EX raid, you needed an invitation, but anyone can participate in top raids. When top raids were announced for Pokémon Go for the first time, we already reported on the parallels to EX raids.
