Starlink is currently the world’s leading provider of high-speed satellite internet services. However, it is clear that competitors are closely following. One of them is “OneWeb,” which has announced that it has received approval to launch satellite broadband services in India.

It has been revealed that the low Earth orbit operator, “Eutelsat OneWeb,” a subsidiary of “OneWeb India,” has obtained the necessary approval from the newly established national space regulatory authority to commence its commercial satellite broadband services in India. As a result, “OneWeb” has become the first company to receive permission to provide high-speed satellite internet service in the world’s second-largest internet user market.

It is crucial to note that on the path to launching the service in India, “OneWeb” has surpassed industry leaders such as “Starlink” and “JioSpaceFiber.” However, the launch of the service still depends on the radio frequency spectrum allocated by the Indian government.

It should be mentioned that “OneWeb” has already established and operates a complete low Earth orbit satellite network. It is expected to be available worldwide, including ocean and mountain regions, by January 24 of the next year.
