Activision has confirmed that the mobile battle royale will offline on April 17 2026. The publisher put a service notice, which details what will be changed and what players should do prior to the servers going offline.

It was removed as the title of app stores last year and has not had any new seasons or paid content since May 2025. Purchasers that had downloaded the game prior to the delisting were still allowed to play, but no future downloads were allowed.

Shutdown Date and Timeline

The servers would continue till April 17 2026. Online matchmaking will cease after that date and no longer will it be possible to play the game. The official support page also says that any content that is bought can be used in installed versions until the day of shutdown but that any unused COD Points should be used before the date. Refunds for purchased items and for unused COD Points are not available.

Before the shutdown day social features were limited and purchases were disabled months ago. That change was part of the phased wind down that the publisher announced last year. The company offered ways for players to transition to other mobile offerings in the franchise and outlined incentives that were available for a limited time.

Guidance for Players

Keep the game installed if you want to access previously purchased content through April 17 2026. Redeem unused COD Points on in game content well before the shutdown. Back up any local data that matters to you and note that guest accounts and certain social features will lose access once the servers close. Activision says that accounts will remain usable on other franchise services but that Warzone Mobile specific access will end with the servers.

Call of Duty players who require a mobile battle royale can resort to Call of Duty: Mobile that is still active and developed. The mainline mobile title continues to run seasons and to receive new content and events. The publisher is encouraging the community to move to that live product and to use cross franchise progression systems where they apply.

What the shutdown means for monetization is clear. Purchases and matchmaking tied to Warzone Mobile will cease. The publisher has stated that content acquired and used before the shutdown will not be refunded after the servers close. Players who spend virtual currency after the date will no longer be able to access the items bought in that title. Plan purchases accordingly and treat spend in the game as time limited.

Season Ends, Platform Shuts Down

Warzone Mobile was released with great optimism in 2024 and received a lot of early attention. That early momentum died down and the title failed to achieve the engagement levels that the publisher required to carry on with the development of the platform on a long term basis. The company signaled the change in strategy last year and then began the phased removal from stores and the disabling of purchases. That sequence now culminates with the announced April shutdown.
