YouTube used its Made on YouTube event to announce many new creator tools. The updates touch Studio Live Shorts, Music, and podcast workflows. YouTube said the changes aim to help creators reach global viewers and to make creation faster.

YouTube will roll out many features in phases. Some will be in open beta for creators in the YouTube Partner Program. Other tools will begin in the United States and expand over time. Creators should watch official blog posts and Studio notices for availability.

YouTube Studio updates

YouTube Studio gains an inspiration tab and title A/B testing to help creators find better angles and to test what drives clicks. An Ask Studio assistant will answer questions about channel performance and suggest actions. Auto dubbing will now match lip movement in translated videos to make foreign language versions look more natural. Likeness detection moves into open beta so creators can find and manage videos that use their face without permission.

Creators can now collaborate more easily. YouTube lets up to five creators work on a single video and publish it to each contributor audience. That is intended to simplify cross-channel projects and to make joint premieres smoother. Studio will also surface inspiration and AI-guided edits to speed the process from idea to publish.

Shorts and Live

YouTube brought a custom version of Google DeepMind’s Veo 3 into Shorts. Veo 3 Fast generates short clips from text prompts at lower latency and now adds sound in the generated outputs. Creators can transfer motion between clips, apply different visual styles, and insert new objects with text prompts. YouTube also introduced a Speech to Song remix tool that uses Google music models to turn dialogue into short music hooks.

YouTube Live adds dual format streaming so broadcasters can send both vertical and horizontal feeds with one stream and one chat. The new side-by-side ad format runs ads next to the live content rather than pausing the stream. AI-powered highlights will find the best live moments and convert them into shareable Shorts automatically. Live will also get minigames, practice rehearsals, and reactive experiences for viewers.

YouTube said these Live and Shorts tools will help creators keep momentum and make it easier to turn long live sessions into multiple short clips that spread on social platforms. The company also emphasized safeguards for AI-generated media, including SynthID watermarking for AI outputs.

Monetization and music

YouTube extended monetization options. The platform added better product tagging and auto timestamps for items mentioned in videos. Creators can swap brand deals in long-form videos and will see automated brand match suggestions in a creator partnerships hub. Shorts creators will gain a brand link option for sponsored content, and new shopping features will let fans buy items shown in clips. YouTube Music will test release countdowns, thank you videos, and exclusive merch drops for fans.

Podcasters will get AI tools for clip suggestions and a workflow to turn audio shows into video podcasts. That will let podcasters create visual clips and Shorts from audio episodes more quickly. YouTube said the goal is to help audio creators find new viewers who watch Shorts and videos.
