YouTube is experimenting with a feature to enable YouTube creators to add the feature of inviting other YouTube channels to be co-collaborators on the video post. The step is in the spirit of what is being offered by Instagram and TikTok already. The trial was confirmed by a member of the Google support staff in a YouTube Help forum. The test is limited to a small number of creators, though YouTube will expand the opportunity following its feedback and improvement of the feature.

How the New Collab Tags Work
Those creating content in the test are able to tag partners by including the names of their channels in the details of a video. When there are numerous collaborators on video on mobile, YouTube will display the words, …and more. That text is tapped by the viewers to view the entire list. The names of each collaborator with the Subscribe button are mentioned to enable the audience to follow all of the contributors easily.
Once a creator invites another person to work with him/her, the invited channel has no choice but to accept. This step eliminates illegal tagging. It also establishes trust as it ensures that both parties to the partnership consent to the partnership. Performance data, such as watch time or revenue, is yet to be determined on whether collaborators will be able to see the numbers prior to publication.
Why This Matters for Creators
This aspect may assist small and mid-size channels to expand viewers since they can display videos to viewers of individual partners. It encourages collaboration and could bring about fresh artistic collaborations. When brands and influencers produce videos, they can credit each other at a glance. This would stimulate subscriptions and views of all collaborators.

YouTube will measure the reaction of the trial people, and after deciding whether to go all out. YouTube offers creators possibilities to report bugs or make suggestions on how to act using the feedback tools. In case the test is a success, collaboration tags will be widely implemented. Then any form of creator that will be eligible per the guidelines of YouTube will be capable of inviting their peers to be part of their videos.
