PlayStation Plus subscribers are in for a mix of good and bad news this June. While new games will soon join the service, six fan favorites are leaving. Titles like Monster Hunter Rise and Inscryption will disappear from the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium libraries, leaving many players upset.

Which Games Are Leaving PlayStation Plus?

Here are the six games leaving PlayStation Plus in June 2025:

  1. After Us
An adventure game where you play as a spirit trying to save extinct animals on a dead Earth. It mixes exploration with emotional storytelling.
  2. Avicii Invector
A music game featuring 25 songs by the late DJ Avicii. Players hit notes to the beat, similar to Guitar Hero.
  3. Rogue Legacy 2
A challenging game where you explore randomly created dungeons. Each time your character dies, you play as their heir with new abilities.
  4. Inscryption
A spooky card game mixed with puzzles and escape-room challenges. It is known for its creepy story and unique gameplay.
  5. Monster Hunter Rise
A hit action game where you hunt giant monsters. It is a fan favorite and the predecessor to the new Monster Hunter Wilds.
  6. Kayak VR: Mirage
A virtual reality game where you kayak through beautiful and wild waters. It is praised for its realistic visuals.

Why Are Subscribers Upset?

Fans of the series are sorry that the games will end. These two games, Monster Hunter Rise and Inscryption, are very popular. Some say that not announcing new titles after taking old ones off lessens the worth of PlayStation Plus.

VR gamers can suffer as well. They offer a small variety of VR games and this one is among the top-notch. Without it, VR enthusiasts have less to choose from.

This follows a trend. In May 2025, PlayStation Plus removed 22 games but only added 10. Subscribers worry the service is losing more games than it gains.

What This Means for You

If you want to play these games, act fast. You have until mid-June 2025 to download them. Once they are gone, they might not come back.

Here is what to do:

  • Check your library. If you already downloaded these games, you can play them as long as you stay subscribed.
  • If you have not tried them, download them now. Some, like Inscryption, can be finished in a few days.
  • Keep an eye on updates. Sony will announce new June games soon, but details are still missing.

The Bigger Picture

PlayStation Plus regularly adds and removes games to keep the library fresh. Nevertheless, PlayStation owners who signed up for the Memories service to play Monster Hunter Rise are not satisfied when they lose access to it. Sony has given no explanation for removing these games. Others believe the reason is because RIM hasn’t secured new licensing deals. Another reason is pointed to the fact that attention is now given mainly to fresh releases. In any case, they look forward to better replacements in any future updates.
