Microsoft just gave its AI helper, Copilot, a big upgrade for the company’s 50th birthday. Copilot can now browse the web, book tickets, and even remember details about your life. These changes aim to make Copilot as useful as rivals like ChatGPT and Google Gemini.

Copilot Can Now Do Tasks for You on the Web

The main new addition to Copilot allows it to handle tasks involving flight bookings, reservation scheduling, and flower delivery. The bouquet order process links to sites of 1-800-Flowers.com when you input “Send my mom roses for her birthday.” chuyến bay planning and dining reservations through its collaborations with Expedia, Kayak, and OpenTable.

Copilot can also track prices for you. Ask it to watch for sales on a new laptop, and it will alert you when prices drop. This feature is similar to tools from Perplexity, a popular AI search engine.

Copilot Remembers Your Favorite Things

The new AI application also acquires users’ personal preferences through continuous usage, just like ChatGPT does. AI software remembers statements about your preferences for Italian food together with sci-fi movies to provide associated recommendations at later stages. Microsoft says you can delete these memories anytime or turn off the feature completely if it feels too personal.

See the World Through Copilot’s Eyes

Using your phone’s camera, Copilot can now answer questions about what it sees. Point your camera at a strange plant and ask, “What is this?” and Copilot will identify it. On Windows computers, Copilot scans your screen to help you find files, change settings, or organize folders. This feature launches first for Windows Insider testers next week.

How Microsoft Keeps Your Data Safe

Microsoft promises Copilot will not peek at private files without permission. Users can block the AI from accessing certain folders or websites. Businesses can also control what Copilot does on work devices.

Copilot Turns Articles Into Podcasts

A new tool lets Copilot turn websites or documents into short podcasts. For example, if you share a news article, Copilot creates a chat between two AI hosts discussing the story. You can interrupt with questions, and the hosts adjust their talk. This mimics Google’s NotebookLM but adds a conversational twist.

Competing With ChatGPT and Gemini

While Copilot’s upgrades are impressive, Microsoft did not share how often the AI makes mistakes. The ticket booking functions of ChatGPT through Instacart applications already exist, yet Copilot gains a competitive advantage thanks to its travel website partnerships. Websites can block Copilot as a direct response to stop ads, which is comparable to the blocking of OpenAI tools.

Why This Matters for Everyday Life

The new abilities in Copilot provide time-saving benefits to people who maintain a hectic schedule. Vacation planning will become more streamlined when users no longer need to shift between multiple apps while also forgetting their holiday shopping tasks. But some worry about privacy. There is something convenient about letting an AI remember your preferences or monitor your screen activity because this functionality gives you a sense of ease while simultaneously raising privacy concerns.

Microsoft says you stay in control. The company’s blog states, “You choose what Copilot remembers and what it can access.” As AI helpers get smarter, balancing convenience and privacy will be key. For now, Copilot’s upgrades show how AI is becoming a bigger part of work, travel, and daily routines.
