Xiaomi has kicked off the year with a bold statement. Or rather, POCO, Xiaomi’s sub-brand focused on performance and value for money, has done so. Its latest flagship device is the POCO X7 Pro, a mid-range smartphone that has entered the market in grand style. Building on the success of the POCO X6 Pro, one of the most highly recommended phones of 2024, the POCO X7 Pro is already poised to match its predecessor’s impressive sales figures, even though it was just unveiled moments ago.

This comes as no surprise, as the POCO X7 Pro delivers everything you’d expect from a premium mid-range phone. In fact, in some areas, it even comes close to competing with high-end models. Notable features include 90W fast charging, the Dimensity 8400 Ultra processor, and a 120Hz AMOLED display.
The POCO X7 Pro stands out as an excellent choice for anyone looking for strong performance, a reliable camera, a high-quality screen, and an elegant design—without the need to spend 800 euros. As for its price, it is expected to launch in Europe between 350 and 400 euros.
This Is Xiaomi’s New Flagship Mobile Phone
POCO has taken a slightly different approach with the POCO X7 Pro compared to its previous models, especially in terms of design. This time, the phone moves away from the oversized camera modules seen in past generations and opts for a more modest dual-camera setup with a sleek, compact design.
The phone features flat metal frames and a dual-tone texture on the back, which is consistent across all versions. It will be available in light green, black, and the signature two-tone black and yellow. When you flip the phone to view the front, it closely resembles the previous generation and other devices in Xiaomi’s lineup, making it familiar yet refined.
The display on the POCO X7 Pro follows the familiar formula seen in many other Xiaomi phones, which is not a bad thing at all. It features a high-quality AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution, the standard 6.67-inch size, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also supports key features like HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, enhancing the overall viewing experience.
While the panel might look similar to its predecessor, it comes with a significant upgrade. The screen’s brightness has been dramatically improved, reaching a peak of 3,200 nits. This impressive figure is twice as bright as the POCO X6 Pro, making it a standout feature of the new model.
To power everything on this screen, POCO has chosen MediaTek’s Dimensity 8400 Ultra processor. This chip delivers outstanding performance, particularly in gaming. To put its capabilities into perspective, the POCO X7 Pro achieved an impressive 1.7 million points on AnTuTu, more than double the score of many of its direct competitors.
The phone is further enhanced with up to 12 GB of RAM and a base storage capacity of 256 GB, which significantly surpasses the minimum specifications offered by other devices in Xiaomi’s lineup or by competitors like realme, Motorola, and Samsung.
The POCO X7 Pro also excels in photography. While it has only two rear cameras, one of the sensors is the Sony IMX882. This 50 MP sensor, with its larger size, captures brighter and more detailed shots. It also features both Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) for steady and high-quality photos and videos.
Why has the POCO X7 Pro lost a sensor compared to the X6 Pro? POCO has adopted a trend that’s been gaining popularity in recent months: combining macro photography with the ultra-wide-angle camera. This approach allows for lighter and more affordable devices without compromising the ability to capture detailed close-up shots.
POCO has further strengthened its position in the market with three standout features that set the POCO X7 Pro apart from its competitors. It boasts a 6,000 mAh battery, 90W fast charging, and IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.
The 6,000 mAh battery takes battery life to the next level. While the previous model was already impressive, this upgrade should now deliver up to two days of use on a single charge with light usage.
The 90W fast charging capability enables the POCO X7 Pro to recharge fully in just 42 minutes, rivaling many high-end devices. However, in Europe, the phone is expected to be sold without a charger included.
Lastly, the IP68 certification marks a significant improvement in durability over the standard IP54 found in other models. The POCO X7 Pro is now far more resistant to dust and dirt and can be safely submerged in water, offering peace of mind for users in various environments.
