Google has officially expanded its Pixel Buds web app to Windows and macOS, offering users full control over their earbuds from desktop devices. After debuting the web app for Chromebooks in October last year, Google has now rolled out support for machines running Windows 11 and macOS Sonoma or newer. This long-awaited update provides users with easy access to features like battery checks, firmware updates, and extended control functionalities, previously exclusive to Chromebook users.

According to Android Police, this update opens up seamless integration for Windows and macOS users, who can now pair their Pixel Buds, navigate to mypixelbuds.google.com, and control their earbuds directly from the web app.

Full Functionality Now at Your Fingertips

The Pixel Buds web app offers a wide range of controls. From the main interface, users can monitor the battery status of both earbuds and the case, while accessing more advanced settings via the “More Settings” (gear icon) located at the top right of the screen.

Tapping into this menu reveals options for:

  • Mono Audio
  • Volume EQ and Balance
  • In-Ear Detection

Additionally, information about the earbuds’ model and current firmware is easily accessible. For Pixel Buds Pro users, the web app provides extra functionalities, including Active Noise Control (Noise Cancellation/Transparency), Conversation Detection, Multipoint, Touch Controls, and an Equalizer. The web app makes it simple to update the Pixel Buds firmware without needing an Android device.

Google Gemini Update for All Pixel Buds

In other Pixel Buds-related news, Google recently announced that the Gemini AI assistant will be coming to all Pixel Buds models, including the budget-friendly A-Series. Users will only need to set Gemini as the default device assistant to access this feature, though an official release date for the Gemini rollout has not yet been provided by Google.

This latest update signals Google’s continued investment in improving the Pixel Buds experience across platforms, making their flagship earbuds even more versatile for users across a broader range of devices. For now, Windows 11 and macOS users can enjoy the convenience of controlling their Pixel Buds directly from their computers, ensuring they have access to all the tools needed for a fully optimized audio experience.
