Xiaomi has confirmed the global launch of the Mix Flip, the foldable phone that debuted in China earlier this year. The Chinese manufacturer announced that the powerful mobile phone will be available in just a few days, allowing users to purchase it without having to import it from Asian stores. Xiaomi’s founder and CEO, Lei Jun, stated that the Mix Flip will be available globally this month. He used his X profile to thank users for their support. With the global launch of the Mix Flip, Xiaomi will be competing directly with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the new Motorola Razr 50.
The Xiaomi Mix Flip is one of two foldable phones announced in mid-2024 for the Asian market. While the presentation was primarily aimed at the Chinese audience, the debut of the Mix Flip prompted users in other regions to start a petition to Xiaomi. The company already has experience with foldables through its Mix Fold series, but the Mix Flip marks its first venture into the clamshell design segment.
The Chinese foldable phone features a 4.01-inch external display with a 1.5K resolution and an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz. Inside, things get even more exciting, as the screen measures 6.98 inches and has a PWM frequency of 2,160 Hz. Xiaomi has equipped the Mix Flip with impressive brightness, reaching a maximum of 3,000 nits.
Xiaomi Mix Flip: Powerful Processor, Great Battery Life, and HyperOS
The Xiaomi Mix Flip is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, offering options of 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and internal storage capacities ranging from 256GB to 1TB UFS 4.0. Additionally, it comes with a 4,780mAh battery that supports 67W wired fast charging. In terms of performance, the Mix Flip competes directly with the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra.
Additionally, the Xiaomi Mix Flip boasts a 50 MP Leica main camera with optical image stabilization. It also features a 50 MP telephoto lens with a 47mm focal length and a 32 MP front camera for selfies. The foldable phone includes all the AI functions of HyperOS to enhance your photography.
The Xiaomi Mix Flip is set to debut globally in September 2024. Currently, the exact date and final price for european countries are still unknown. In China, the foldable was priced at 5,999 yuan (about 760 euros) for the 12GB + 256GB version, while the more powerful 16GB + 1TB configuration was priced at 7,299 yuan (approximately 925 euros). It’s important to note that these prices are just a reference, as it will likely be more expensive when it arrives in Europe.
