Great news for PlayStation fans! To celebrate 30 years since the original PlayStation debuted in Japan, Sony has announced limited editions of the digital PS5, PS5 Pro, DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers, and PlayStation Portal. All of these products feature the unique design of the legendary console that was launched in Japan on December 3, 1994.

As shown in the official images, the consoles and other devices have taken on the classic grey color of the PS1, along with the original multi-colored PlayStation logo. Both the PS5 and PS5 Pro will come with collectible items such as a poster, a sticker, a paper clip shaped like the PlayStation logo, and four themed cable ties.
Also included is a USB-C cable with a connector on one end that looks like the original PlayStation controllers. There is also a cover for the disc drive. However, keep in mind that the Blu-ray drive is not included with either limited edition console, so those who want one will need to buy it separately. Both sets do come with a vertical stand, though.
Sony has announced that both the digital PS5 and the PS5 Pro, created to celebrate 30 years of PlayStation, will be available in very limited quantities. They have specified that only 12,300 units of the PS5 Pro will be made, each with a unique identification number engraved. This means it will be quite challenging to get one, and there will likely be fierce competition with speculators and scalpers.
What Do the Limited Edition PS5 and PS5 Pro Bundles Include?
As mentioned earlier, the limited edition PS5 and PS5 Pro bundles, celebrating 30 years of PlayStation, feature a design inspired by the original console and come with extra items like a poster, sticker, and disc drive cover. However, there are some key differences between the two bundles.
For the 1TB PS5 Digital, Sony will include a DualSense controller that matches the color of the console. If you choose the 2TB PS5 Pro, the limited edition will come with a DualSense controller, a DualSense Edge controller with its case, and a charging dock for both controllers.
It’s worth noting that the special versions of the PlayStation Portal and the DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers can be purchased separately. Currently, the manufacturer has not stated how many units of these accessories will be available.
Price and Availability
The big question is how much the limited-edition PS5 and PS5 Pro will cost, along with the other accessories celebrating 30 years of the original PlayStation. Unfortunately, we don’t have an answer yet, as Sony hasn’t provided any pricing information. We’ll need to wait a bit longer for official details.
What we do know is that the two console bundles, along with the PlayStation Portal and the DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers, will be available for pre-order on the official PlayStation store starting September 26. They will also be available through other retail stores, but further details on that have not been revealed.
