Samsung will add Google Photos to its smart TVs and fold the service into the Vision AI Companion. This move will let families see their photos and short videos on their TV and use new AI tools to edit and remix images at home.
Google Photos on TV
According to Samsung, consumers can sign in with a Google Account and access their library of Google Photos on their TV. The company plans to introduce the feature that will bring up Memories of people and places so that the families can experience the trip and special moments together. Samsung frames the change as a way to make photos an everyday TV experience rather than something stored only on phones.
AI Photo Tools
The TV experience will include an AI-driven Create feature that can edit images, change art style, and turn still photos into short video clips. Samsung notes that this tool will use models from Google DeepMind and will be labeled Create with AI in the TV interface. The feature will also let users make themed slideshows for topics such as ocean trips or city breaks.
When it Launches
Samsung plans to launch a Memories experience in March 2026 and to add the Create with AI and Personalized Results tools later in 2026. Memories will be exclusive to Samsung TVs for six months at launch. Samsung says availability will vary by model and region.
This integration aims to make the TV a more personal hub. Users will no longer need to cast images from a phone to show a photo album. The TV will surface photos at natural moments on the home screen and let people edit or animate images with AI tools that run in the cloud. Samsung and Google say they will keep user controls and account sign-in simple so people can opt in and out easily.
