Google has just made an unexpected and very useful change to its keyboard. In fact, it’s one of the best new features of the year, as it allows you to easily use a function that was already available but rarely used due to its complexity. Now, everything is simpler, more intuitive, and faster when it comes to emojis. What are we talking about? Emoji Kitchen, the tool that lets you combine two emoticons and use them in your WhatsApp or Telegram conversations.

Emoji Kitchen was already part of Google Keyboard, but it was difficult to use, requiring multiple clicks and a complex interface. With the latest update, all of that has changed. Gboard now displays the tool in the top shortcut bar. When you click on the Emojis option, the history icon now shows a new button for Emoji Kitchen.

At the top, you’ll see an arrow pointing to the right. If you tap on it, you’ll go straight to Emoji Kitchen, where you can view and create new emojis. Additionally, by tapping the floating button at the bottom right, you can select an emoticon and see all the possible combinations. This is something that couldn’t be done before on Google Keyboard, and it limited the tool’s use.

Of course, the tool still lets you choose any two emojis to create a new one. The interesting part is that Google Keyboard now shows you these combinations in advance, so you don’t have to try different emoji pairs until you find one you like. Everything is now simplified and much more accessible.

This change follows a less-than-successful implementation of Emoji Kitchen by Google. The company didn’t give it much attention, which made its use quite limited. However, with the new, more intuitive, and accessible interface, it’s likely that the tool will gain more popularity.

This is a fantastic tool, as it allows you to expand the list of emojis to more than 100,000 different combinations. The options are incredible, and while some may not make much sense, it’s fun to combine the “in love” face with the “crying” face to create a new emoji for your conversations.

As mentioned, there are tens of thousands of options, so it’s great news that Google Keyboard has improved the Emoji Kitchen experience and made it more accessible to everyone. Of course, you should keep in mind that this update will roll out in the next few weeks, so it’s normal if you haven’t noticed any changes in the app yet.

If you enjoy playing around with emojis and creating new combinations, Google also has a simple website where you can combine hundreds of emoticons and discover which pairs you like best. It’s called Emoji Kitchen.
