Forget the Galaxy S25: This Is the Samsung Phone You’ll Want to Buy in 2025

Forget the Galaxy S25 or Qualcomm—the most exciting news for 2025 is that Samsung might finally enter the affordable foldable phone market. Rumors and leaks have circulated for years about Samsung’s plans to launch a budget-friendly foldable, but it has yet to happen. Now, a simple post on X (formerly Twitter) has stirred up excitement for what Samsung may bring next year.

While many are focused on the Galaxy S25 and the processor Samsung will use, reports suggest a new model is under development in Samsung’s factories in South Korea. If the leak is accurate, Samsung is working on a Galaxy Z Flip FE (Fan Edition) to give users a chance to own a foldable phone without spending 1,200 euros.

According to the source, Samsung may use the popularity of the FE series to release a foldable device that, although not mid-range, would come with a much lower price and features from previous models.

The explanation is simple: according to the information, this Galaxy Z Flip FE would use an Exynos 2400 chip, the same one found in the Galaxy S24 sold in Spain. If this affordable foldable is released in 2025, its processor will be a year old, meaning it won’t be considered mid-range. Instead, it would be a high-end device with last year’s hardware.

In other words, Samsung would use components from current foldable devices to launch a more affordable version of the Galaxy Z Flip 6. This is similar to what Samsung does with the FE versions of the Galaxy S series: they make a few minor adjustments, use high-end components that aren’t the latest, and offer them at a lower price.

Samsung seems to be shifting its strategy.

After several years of releasing premium foldables, the company appears to have realized there is a demand beyond the high-end market. Many users want to experience a foldable phone, but the prices of the popular models are simply too high.

With lower costs and most technologies now well-developed, launching cheaper foldable phones seems much more feasible, especially if Samsung can make use of hardware they’ve had in stock from previous years that hasn’t been sold.

2025 could be a big year for foldables, as a ‘mid-range’ option with solid quality could help open up the market and give more users the chance to experience their benefits. For the past four years, the starting price for foldables has been around 1,200 euros, but with the Galaxy Z Flip FE, that could change.

However, it’s important to take this information with caution, as the source reporting on the cheap foldable is not the most reliable in the industry. While it might not be lying or incorrect, the source lacks the credibility and background to fully trust its claims. It seems to have a lot of information from suppliers in China, but doesn’t have the established track record that other sources might have.
