In recent weeks, Samsung has established itself as the company that best handles Android updates, second only to Google. The Korean company has launched the Galaxy A16 5G, which comes with a remarkable 6 years of official support—something unheard of for a budget phone costing around 150 euros. Today, after this significant change in its lineup, the list of models that will receive Android 15 and One UI 7 has been updated for the better.

Even though Google is delaying Android 15 and Samsung is postponing One UI 7, the update is expected to arrive in the coming months. Therefore, it’s important to know which devices will receive the update, which ones will be left out, and if there are any last-minute surprises.

We have some news from Shift Delete, which has updated its list of Samsung phones compatible with Android 15 and One UI 7. The updated list now includes more models, along with several tablets that will also benefit from the new software features.

The list is quite long, though it may not include everything we hoped for. Samsung is doing well by promising many years of updates, but these decisions have mostly been made in recent generations. As a result, older models are gradually being left out after 3-4 years of support. A good example of this is the Galaxy S20 and the Note 20 series.

Still, here is the list of Samsung phones that should receive the Android 15 and One UI 7 update when it becomes available:

  • Galaxy S24 Ultra
  • Galaxy S24+
  • Galaxy S24
  • Galaxy S23 Ultra
  • Galaxy S23+

A few tablets will also benefit from this update.

Here are the Samsung tablets that will also receive the Android 15 and One UI 7 update:

  • Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra (WiFi/5G)

  • Galaxy Tab S8 (WiFi/5G)

In summary, when Samsung completes the update, it should have a total of 47 smartphones and 8 tablets with stable Android 15 and One UI 7 on the market. These numbers are impressive and few companies can match them. However, Xiaomi, with its larger catalog, will also distribute this software to many of its devices using HyperOS 2.0.

When is One UI 7 coming? At Samsung’s latest developer conference, the company confirmed that the first beta will arrive before the end of 2024. This suggests that the stable version, which will come with Android 15, may not be expected until early 2025.

If you own one of the Samsung devices listed earlier, we recommend waiting patiently for the update, as it may take several months to reach your device—especially if it is a mid-range model that was not launched this year.
