Bethesda announced earlier today that the Starfield update 1.13.61 is now live. This update adds the Rev-8, the game’s first land vehicle. The Rev-8 is featured in the upcoming Shattered Space DLC.
The main highlight of this update is the Rev-8. This new vehicle can drive across land, and we saw it in a trailer earlier today. It has hover jets and a turret, and it looks quite cute as it bounces around. Here is the Trailer:
The update adds more than just the Rev-8 vehicle. It includes new settings for better customization. Players can now choose frame rates of 30, 40, 60, or uncapped for VRR displays. Non-VRR displays can still choose between 30 and 60, but 60 may cause screen tearing.

The update also lets players prioritize visuals or performance and toggle Vsync on or off. Xbox Series S now has new performance options. Most gameplay changes focus on fixing bugs and making the game run smoother.

Today’s update comes before a bigger DLC called Shattered Space, which will launch on September 30. We first saw Shattered Space in June at the Xbox Games Showcase. It is the first story expansion for Starfield. This DLC adds a new planet, weapons, spacesuits, gear, and more.
You can find the full patch notes below.
New Settings:
- Frame Rate Target: Choose between 30, 40, 60, or uncapped frame rates on VRR displays. Non-VRR displays offer 30 or 60. Using 60 on non-VRR may cause screen tearing.
- Prioritize: Decide between Visuals and Performance. For frame rates of 60 or higher, choose Performance. Visuals give higher resolution and detail; Performance reduces resolution and detail. Both modes adjust resolution based on scene intensity. Lighting changes briefly when switching modes.
- VSync: Toggle VSync on or off. Off may cause screen tearing. On synchronizes frame rate with the monitor’s refresh rate, avoiding tearing but limiting frames.
