Samsung may be making adjustments to the design of the Galaxy S25 Ultra—a phone expected to launch in January 2025—to make it more ergonomic than the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Recent leaks show that the phone will replace its predecessor’s straight edges with rounded corners and feature a significantly thinner bezel.

On Friday (16), leaker Ice Universe released a new image comparing the alleged design of the Galaxy S25 Ultra with the Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy S20 Ultra, which were released in 2021 and 2020, respectively. Although the Galaxy S25 Ultra will have more rounded edges than the Galaxy S24 Ultra, it will still be more “straight” than the older models.

The tipster notes that despite these changes, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will still have a “Galaxy Note” look compared to the Galaxy S21 Ultra. It’s important to remember that in 2022, the Galaxy S22 Ultra was introduced with a new design that borrowed features from the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, such as the rectangular shape with straight edges and support for the S Pen.

In recent generations, Samsung’s top-of-the-line phones have become more compact without reducing the screen size. This has been achieved through advanced technologies that allow for thinner panel edges.

This strategy will continue with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which could be the most compact “Ultra” model ever released by Samsung. The images suggest that, despite having a slightly larger screen, it will be more compact than previous models.

Rumors also suggest that the phone will have a more rounded design on the frames closest to the rear panel, while maintaining a straighter look on the frames nearest to the screen. Leakers have noted several times that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will not be completely identical in design to the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Other speculations suggest that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature a Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with Quad HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, a 200 MP main camera with three additional lenses equipped with 50 MP sensors, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, storage optimized for Galaxy AI, and a 5,000 mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is not expected to be officially launched until 2025, but several leaks suggest that this powerful device will feature a small design change.

Tipster Ice Universe has shared an image comparing the current Galaxy S24 Ultra with the future Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The main difference is that the 2025 model is expected to have rounded corners, moving away from the straight-edged design of the current model.

The leaker also revealed that this change is intended to greatly improve the ergonomics of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, making it much easier and more comfortable to hold.

Additionally, the device’s screen is expected to remain the same as the current generation, featuring a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with Quad HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is anticipated to use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, have IP68 certification, and run Android 15. The camera system will include four sensors:

  • Main lens with a 200 MP sensor
  • Ultrawide lens with a 50 MP sensor
  • Telephoto lens with a 50 MP sensor (3x zoom)
  • Telephoto lens with a 50 MP sensor (5x zoom)

The technical specifications will also include a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging.
