Players in WoW: The War Within were shocked to find that one of the warband’s best transmog features was not included as they had hoped. Transmog fans are having trouble understanding the developers’ explanation.

The Warband is a major feature of WoW: The War Within, which was already available in the pre-patch. This is great news for transmog collectors because it now allows them to add items from any armor class to their transmog collection, even if their character cannot equip those items. For example, a cloth-wearing character can collect plate transmog items.
Even more exciting was the Warband’s transmog feature, which was supposed to let players collect set pieces from other classes. We had celebrated this with the headline, “Another Transmog Dream Comes True.” However, during the pre-patch, both we and the community discovered that the Warband’s set feature had intentionally not been included.

It Wouldn’t Cost Blizzard Any Resources and Yet They Don’t Do It
Set tokens are bound to the warband, but older set items for specific classes are not. Items specific to other classes, such as Illidan’s Warglaives, also cannot be collected via the warband if the character looting the item cannot equip it.
Blizzard you dont need player feedback to realize that you have to make set items that drop straight up as warband collectable…

Players like the Redditor mentioned above are confused by this change.
Previously, Community Manager Linxy announced on the official forum that all legacy set tokens (from Shadowlands and earlier) could be collected account-wide. However, this does not apply to items from old raids. The corresponding post has now been removed from the official WoW forum.
In an interview with MRGM, Principal Software Engineer Peter Hodge explained the change by stating that certain class items should be collected by that specific class. This explanation seems like a typical PR response and is inconsistent with the original plan for the warband, according to the Redditor. For many players, set items are crucial components of a transmog set.
Collecting set items from legacy content with any class would have saved a lot of time. The absence of this feature in the warband is frustrating because, although items from all armor classes can still be collected account-wide, players aiming for set items will need to enter legacy raids with different classes. As a result, they will not save much time in the end.
