So far, Helldivers 2 has only been released for the PlayStation 5 and PC. However, according to an insider report, the popular shooter may soon be available for the Xbox.
Over the last few months, Xbox has already released a few titles for the PlayStation. Now, it seems like Sony is returning the favor. Journalist Nick “Shpeshal Nick” Baker reports on the XboxEra Podcast that talks have begun regarding various Xbox releases. Among other titles, the third-person shooter Helldivers 2 is under discussion.
However, since the talks are still at an early stage, nothing too specific can be said about them. That’s why Baker doesn’t want to commit himself or make false promises to the community.
It’s not unlikely that Helldivers 2 will be released for the Xbox. After all, the shooter is a third-party title for which PlayStation only acts as the publisher. This means that PlayStation decides on which platforms the title will appear. However, since the shooter is not a prestigious brand like God of War, an Xbox release seems quite realistic.

Xbox Titles Sell Well on PlayStation
The top 25 currently best-selling games in the PlayStation Store show that both companies can benefit from cross-platform sales. According to Jon “sikamikanico” Clarke, there are currently more Microsoft-owned titles on this list than PlayStation’s. If you leave out Call of Duty and Overwatch 2, this list includes titles like Sea of Thieves, Fallout 4, Minecraft, Fallout 76, and Grounded.
This can, of course, be explained by the fact that many gamers want to catch up on the games they “missed”. But this list basically shows the potential that PlayStation titles could also perform just as successfully on the Xbox.
