In the blink of an eye, Palworld has catapulted itself into the realm of surprise hits for the year. Despite this achievement, the open-world survival cooperative adventure faces numerous construction sites and several limitations. One, in particular, is already driving dedicated players to the brink of madness.

Demand for More Than 3 Bases

Palworld made a thunderous entrance onto Steam, ensnaring even our colleague Peter entirely within its grasp—although the game currently remains in its early access infancy.

Amidst the adorable Pals and the diverse gaming universe, players seem particularly delighted with the base-building aspect. They erect massive structures for themselves and their Pals in various locations, utilizing them for labor and often eliminating concerns about resource scarcity

However, to prevent things from becoming too straightforward, developer Pocketpair seems to have made provisions: currently, players can erect a maximum of 3 bases in the game. Yet, for many, this falls short, as evidenced by the feedback on this Reddit post:

With over 10,800 likes, the players express their desire for the base limit to be increased or even completely abolished. Some players would also appreciate the ability to expand the range of their bases or alter the shape of their catchment area. They would prefer a square or rectangle instead of the traditional circle.

Base Limit in Palworld: Is There a Valid Reason?

In the comments, some players speak out, believing there are good reasons for the base limit. They speculate that the current technical state of the game simply may not allow for the persistence of countless bases. It’s quite possible that this could change in the coming months with a few updates.

Regarding the relatively small catchment area of the bases, Reddit users also provide a plausible explanation. They assume that developers simply feared that with larger limitations, some players could spend eternity searching for their Pals who are working in the outskirts of the base.

Developer Pocketpair has yet to comment on these fan desires. However, the studio did recently unveil an official roadmap, outlining the features planned for future updates.
