Some adjustments are particularly beneficial, like the new camera mechanics in WoW. Others are nice additions but have minimal impact. However, there are also changes that seem unnecessary or even have negative effects.

The majority of these quality-of-life updates fit into the first two categories. Nevertheless, there are a few that fall into the third category as well.

Lots of UI adjustments in WoW The War Within

WoW; TWW Interface Updates and Quality of Life Enhancements

We’ve already discussed the changes to the camera, but several additional changes have emerged in the beta for WoW: The War Within. Below, we’d like to highlight the most significant ones for you.

Map And Quest Log Revision

Over time, the WoW map has undergone significant changes. It has not only grown larger and more visually appealing but has also accumulated numerous icons and markers. Unfortunately, this has led to increasing confusion. In response, the developers have made a crucial decision to introduce a legend for The War Within. This addition is much needed because a slew of new icons are being introduced. While we hesitate to label any as unnecessary, do we truly require seven distinct icons just for quests?

Thankfully, you won’t have to contend with an overly cluttered map. The WoW developers have implemented a filter function, allowing you to customize what you see to some extent.

Additionally, the quest log is now integrated directly onto the map, complete with a search function. This feature comes in handy if you happen to forget which quest you intended to pursue.

Character Selection – More Options and Filters

We were thrilled when WoW introduced the ability to rearrange characters in the character selection, allowing us to prioritize our currently important characters. However, hold onto your hats because things are about to get even more exciting. With the launch of The War Within, not only can we move and sort characters, but we can also use a search function.

This search field enables us to look up various details about our characters. Naturally, we can search by their name and class, but we can also search by their profession or current location. There might be other search options that we haven’t discovered yet.

More Functions for The Spellbook

The spellbook underwent a revision at the beginning of the Alpha phase and has now been expanded to display all the spells of your class in one view. Additionally, it has been updated with a search function, similar to what we’ve seen in the new talent trees. This allows you to search not only for specific spell names but also across the entire tooltip. This feature is incredibly useful when you want to thoroughly examine your abilities and understand how they function
