Zack Fair fans have much to celebrate as Square Enix revealed at the Tokyo Game Show 2023 that the protagonist of Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core will have an entire episode just for him in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
The information was shared by the producer, Yoshinori Kitase, during a conversation with IGN in which he talked about the differences between Rebirth and the original game.
Kitase explained that the order of certain events in the Rebirth storyline may be different from the original, and the sequence in which characters join the group has been “reimagined.” However, for the most part, Rebirth tells the story of the game from the end of Remake to the sequel that takes place in the Forgotten Capital.
“Furthermore, as you know, in the original Final Fantasy VII, the character Zack Fair didn’t appear as much,” he said. “However, we see at the end of Remake that he has emerged, which, you know, is quite different from the original title. As for Rebirth, there will be a new episode with Zack, which will feature even more of him than Remake. I can’t say much more than that because I would like players to play and experience it for themselves.”
If you don’t want to wait to see more of Zack, you can do so right now by playing Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII: Reunion, the remake of the original Crisis Core. It serves as a prequel to Final Fantasy VII and shows Zack interacting with characters like Cloud, Aerith, and Sephiroth before the events of the main game.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth arrives on February 29, 2024, for PS5.
