Roblox unveiled a new short form video feed called Roblox Moments that will let players capture and share short gameplay clips in a scrollable feed. The company showed the feature and a bundle of creator tools at its developer conference.
Roblox said the new feed will be in beta for users aged 13 and older. Creators will be able to trim clips to 30 seconds add music and write a short caption before sharing. The company will test moderation carefully as it rolls the feature out.
New short feed
Roblox also announced updates to how creators earn money. The company raised the Developer Exchange rate so creators will get more cash when they convert earned Robux. The new rate means 100,000 Robux will now equal three hundred eighty dollars when exchanged.
Roblox is adding new AI tools to speed creation. The tools will let creators generate interactive objects such as drivable vehicles from a text prompt. Creators can then edit the result inside their experience. The company plans to open APIs so studios can build discovery tools that show trending clips and highlights.

Roblox previewed new voice and text tools. Later this year the platform will offer real time voice chat translation for some languages. Roblox will also provide text to speech and speech to text APIs for creators. These tools aim to help developers add dialogue narration voice commands and translated chat.
Roblox said it will raise the quality of animation and physics under a mode called Server Authority. The change should reduce cheating and make interactions such as climbing running and object handling feel more natural. The company also showed improved avatar motion and finer hand animation.
Roblox emphasized safety and content checks. The roll out of Moments will be gradual so moderation can be refined. Roblox is also expanding age estimation to more users and working with third party rating groups to add age and content ratings for experiences.
The company stated that the DevEx change and other updates to the platform will assist more makers in making a living on Roblox. Roblox reported that the most popular creators have been increasing their earnings and that the platform will invest more in tools and moderation to assist younger users.

Roblox will put moderation in front of these features as they expand. Creators will face content checks before clips become public and users can report videos that violate rules. The company said it will study metrics and adjust the system in response to problems. Roblox’s focus is to make short video a way to showcase experiences and to let players jump from a clip into the full game.
