Samsung Just Put Apple in the Spotlight A Star Galaxy Service Just Got Even Better

Having a broken or cracked screen is one of the worst experiences for any smartphone user. Samsung understands this, and that’s why it has just improved one of its most notable services. We’re talking about Samsung Care+, which is similar to AppleCare+—the “insurance” or extended warranty that allows you to repair your devices at a very low cost. Well, the Korean company has now put the Californian company in an awkward position.

Until now, Samsung Care+ charged $29/€29 for screen repair or replacement, in addition to the initial cost of the service. While this amount wasn’t excessive, many users around the world questioned why they had to pay extra when they had already spent a significant amount to purchase the “insurance.”

Well, Samsung has listened to its users and has decided to remove this extra cost for screen replacement. Starting in 2025, users subscribed to the Samsung Care+ Premium plan will no longer have to pay anything to replace their device’s screen if it breaks. This plan, which is the most advanced in Samsung’s service catalog, also includes device replacement in cases of theft or loss.

While the savings may not seem extremely large, they are still a good incentive to choose the most attractive and comprehensive plan. With this decision, Samsung is going against the market trend, where companies are cutting back on such services and offering fewer benefits.

Apple Should Learn from Samsung

Samsung’s latest move inevitably puts Apple and its AppleCare+ under the spotlight. This is not just about the initial cost, which is significantly lower for Samsung, but also about the additional charges for extra services.

For example, with AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss, two years of coverage for an iPhone 16 Pro costs €299, plus an additional €29 each time you replace the screen. In comparison, the same service for a Galaxy S24 Ultra costs €185 for two years of coverage, and starting in 2025, there will be no extra cost for screen repair or replacement.

In addition, Samsung has stated that free repairs can be done in-store, online, or by mail, making the process as convenient as possible for users. However, Apple is not far behind in this regard. The Californian company also provides excellent service, exceptional customer support, and rarely creates any issues when it comes to using the benefits of AppleCare+.

Of course, while the services are quite similar, they don’t directly compete with each other. Very few users will choose one smartphone over another based solely on the insurance conditions. That said, Samsung’s move is great news for anyone considering buying one of its devices. It can help save users a lot of stress and additional expenses over time.
