Samsung is ready to launch its popular Galaxy S25 series sometime in Q2 2025, with its own kind of innovations. According to a recent FCC listing, the Galaxy S25 series will include three models: Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra, model numbers SM-931U, SM-936U, and SM-938U, respectively.
According to the FCC listing, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will come with an S Pen to complete the package, as the model number EJ-PS938 (the S Pen) also appeared on the FCC listing. However, these certifications give an insight into the future of Samsung’s flagship series, showcasing both performance upgrades and design tweaks.
FCC Listing Highlights
The FCC documents show massive connectivity upgrades across all three models. Unlike the S25, the Galaxy S25 Plus and Ultra models will feature support for Ultra wideband (UWB) which opens up tracking for accessories such as smart tags. Moreover, all three models will be accompanied by fairly advanced connectivity options, including 5G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth, GNSS, and NFC.
As far as charging goes, the Galaxy S25 standard model will feature 25W wired charging and 9W wireless charging. More interestingly, than the Galaxy S24 which had 15W wireless charging. The Galaxy S25 Plus and Ultra models will reportedly keep the same 45W wired charging standard that we have seen in the previous generations. The FCC listing does not say exactly how much power the batteries hold, but it will likely be very close to what can be expected from the Samsung Galaxy S24 series.
Snapdragon 8 Elite and Camera Enhancements
The most exciting revelation is that the Samsung S25 Ultra will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Due to low production in Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2500 chip the same processor may be used in the standard as well as Plus models. All S25 models will come preloaded with Android 15 and One UI 7 for a better user experience, said Samsung.
Regarding the camera department, the Galaxy S25 Ultra has reportedly something major to bring, the 50MP ultra wide-angle camera which replaces the 12MP camera. The Ultra model will continue to have its snappy 200MP plus telephoto cameras so you’ll get great photography too. However, the base models are expected to get very few camera updates.
Design
Samsung is ready to ditch the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s brick-shaped looks and move to a sleeker flat frame design. The design sets the Galaxy S24 Ultra apart from the boxier look of the Galaxy S24 range while keeping the display flat. This is a design choice that brings the Ultra closer to the standard plus version, both of which should keep their current design layouts.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is also rumored to have a five-camera setup, much like its predecessor but the design will be inspired by the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Anticipation Builds for the S25 Series
The Samsung S25 series looks promising as a high-end budget phone thanks to a combination of Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, thoughtful design changes, and camera upgrades. Official specs from Samsung have not been fully outlined yet, but the FCC listing is a sure sign of what Samsung intends to do with its flagship lineup. As Samsung continues to strike a balance between innovation and user-centric upgrades, the S25 lineup promises to continue as the powerhouse of flagship smartphones.
